Incredible India

I happened to see a video on you tube which showed about a survey conducted by a Indian student in a foreign university which has the theme India. He asked a lot of foreigners (wide range age wise) about what they think when they hear India.

I was surprised to see that most people know India or rather have an imprint of India ditto to the movie SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE. Most of them have impression of India as they have seen in the movie.

Most people thought that India is a poor country & there is lot of poverty in the country. This is projected in the above mentioned movie which is made by a foreign director.

Few others thought India is only about Bollywood & bollywood is all about dancing, colors, bangles. Ha ha ha.

One person thought India is Gandhi (and if u see that person he was bald thats y he probably has the idea of Gandhiji).

One girl had visited India in the past & had enumerated some states & places which she had visited.

Few people thought India is about rich culture. Only culture and nothing else. They thought India just produces a lot numbers of doctors & engineers.

The video ended with a sentence that Its Time The World Knows More Than What has been seen in the video. I hope they do know something sensible about India. Poverty, dancing, colors, bangles, "rich culture", black magic etc etc are the things the world thinks India is.

Its time the world knows the real India. They should know that India is more then that described above. I hate that the world thinks wrongly about India despite the fact that there are so many flaws in their own countries.

The world can do business in India, employ Indians in various jobs (call centers), play cricket matches & earn money out of it in India, earn charitable money in India etc etc. Despite this India is considered a 3rd world country, poor, full of beggars, overpopulated country. What an irony.

Its time that all Indians think on this seriously. Why despite the fact we have Tata's Birla's Ambanis mittals & many more but still labeled as poor. Though there are so many quality things happening in India we are still labeled in a wrong sense.

The change can occur only when we change our attitude towards ourselves & towards India. Hope we Indians realize this soon.
